Setting the Standard
Custom window treatments are one of the best ways to decorate and insulate your home. Purchasing custom treatments is now affordable for virtually every budget. You will also save on both time and headaches by letting the professionals provide a design consultation, measurements and installation.
One thing to remember: there is no such thing as a standard window size.
Whether your home is new or old there is not a standard window measurement that it's possible to guess a price for and it be accurate. This is what makes the full service of ShadesToYou that much more unique for you. We are well aware of budgets and to be conscience of them, so that is why it would be a disservice to you if there were a "standard" measurement. Not only do we take the height and length into account, but we also pay special attention to operating system, fabric, valance style, multiple
shades on one head rail, additional support brackets, unevenness in the wall and the list goes on and on!
When the mass retailers sell window treatments they have to break down their sizes into what could be defined as "standard," but it reality if your window isn't that size you either have to go one size up or down one size. Most of the time it will not be a perfect fit so you will have a lot of light gaps along the sides or you will have some rubbing where the shade is just a little too wide. It's very possible you may have problems with length as well.
With so many variables to take into consideration, the only way to truly get the exact fit, design and operating system is to invest in treatments that are made just for you. Don't be standard, be excellent. Have your neighbors asking where you bought your window treatments!
